Religious Education
At First
Unitarian, we believe that every person is on a lifelong
spiritual journey of wonder, discovery, questioning, learning,
doubting and growing. Our church covenants to companion its
people through all the ages and stages of their lives with
opportunities for exploration and spiritual enrichment.

Our
children's program is a place where children, teens, parents and
other adults in our congregation become companions in a journey
of exploration. We do this through:
- weekly participation
in
children's chapel
or adult church services
- participation in service
projects, creativity exploration, outdoor activities and
occasional visits to other faith communities
- classroom learning using
curricula developed by the Unitarian Universalist Association
Our Children's programming arises
from our annual church school retreat at which parents and
church leaders affirmed our intent to foster in our children
respect for themselves, for others and the earth and to advance
their "religious literacy" by employing a variety of approaches
in areas such as:
- Unitarian Universalist
values and beliefs
- Our Judeo-Christian
Heritage
- World Religions
- Peace and Justice
- Environmental Awareness
- Personal Growth and
Decision Making
Whether you are new to this
journey, or have been on this path for some time, we welcome you
warmly to our children's church!
